Learn how to file a showing lease so you can show a Quarter Horse you do not own.

Yes. American Quarter Horses can be leased for the purposes of showing if a showing lease form is completed and submitted to AQHA. The lease fee is $100 for members. You may lease a horse to show for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years. Download a showing lease form at www.aqha.com/forms-and-resources and submit the completed form to AQHA.

Showing Level 1?

Level 1 competitors may compete with a horse that he or she does not own - without a lease. However, the top-10 shows/circuits require exhibitors to be the owner or related to the owner of the horse or have an AQHA showing lease or permit. To learn more, visit www.aqha.com/level-1.
