# How do I make changes to my horse's registration certificate?

## To change a horse’s color, gender or markings, return the original certificate, a completed correction form and pictures to AQHA.

AQHA makes free corrections to registration certificates if they are requested within the 12 months following a horse’s foaling date or six months from the date a registration certificate was issued, whichever is later.

A correction to change a stallion to a gelding or to add a brand is also done at no charge. The certificate of registration is required to be returned to AQHA to make the correction.
