What are the requirements for showing in performance halter at AQHA-approved events?

Performance halter is a class offered to judge conformation and resemblance to the breed ideal available only to horses that meet certain performance requirements.

Beginning January 1, 2022, entries into a performance halter class must either abide by performance halter eligibility rules (SHW365.3) or compete in a riding or driving performance class under the same show number. Performance classes held at the same event but under a different show number do not meet this requirement and will result in disqualification. Walk/trot classes and showmanship also do not count as an eligible performance class. A racing Register of Merit still counts as a performance exemption. A performance ROM earned in one division makes the horse eligible for performance halter classes in all divisions.
